Max Mobiel conducted a satisfaction survey among commuters on the shuttle to Eiland Zwijnaarde. The results show overall satisfaction with the service but also highlight some areas for improvement.
The shuttle service performs well overall: commuters gave the service a rating of 4 out of 5 or higher. The evaluation of specific aspects such as driving behavior, punctuality, route, drivers, vehicles, infrastructure, information availability, and the Mbus app was predominantly positive. More than 80% of respondents gave these factors a score of 3 out of 5 or higher, while 65% even gave a score of 4 out of 5 or higher. However, the driving behavior of the drivers was identified as the main area for improvement.
Max Mobiel and vzw Eiland Zwijnaarde immediately took action based on commuter feedback, resulting in the following measures:
- Safety and driving behavior: In consultation with its transportation partner, Max Mobiel made changes to the driver team. The contractor has addressed all drivers regarding the importance of a safe driving style.
- Adjustment of the morning trip: Starting Monday, March 3, 2025, the first trip of the day will depart at 5:40 AM instead of 5:30 AM to ensure better connections.
- Real-time information: Max Mobiel is exploring the financial feasibility of providing real-time travel information in the Mbus app.
- Route adjustments: Instead of extending the travel time to 20 minutes, a more efficient route is being explored. Discussions are ongoing between VZW Eiland Zwijnaarde, SWECO, and Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer.
- Stop and infrastructure adjustments: The stops at VIB and Capture will be merged into one central stop on Suzanne Tassierstraat, where a shelter will be installed. The implementation depends on when the sidewalks are constructed.
- Extra trips: Additional evening and weekend trips are not financially feasible in 2025, but the possibilities for 2026 are being explored by VZW Eiland Zwijnaarde in consultation with the companies.
